Welcome to the forum!
I have the similar beliefs when it comes to tools, or anything for that matter. If you plan on having something for a long time, buy the best you can afford! Going cheap will usually come back to haunt you in the long run.

How about one of those hand held portable band saws like the Milwaukee 6232-20 Deep Cut Band Saw, or the Porter Cable version? I've talked to several contractors that really like them!

I'm not familiar with the MM175, or the Traffimet GPZ-2 200A spoolgun with control box, but it sounds like your machine is still not recognizing the spoolgun.
On the MM175, is there a selection switch that you change the position on to operate the spoolgun?

84flatbed,
I have a 211MM. Mine has a slight raise off the frame on the lower left side, as depicted in your photo. I believe I noticed this when I first purchased it from a local supplier. I never thought it was that much to be concerned about. I figured since it was the door representing...Last edited by SBray; 04-25-2015, 08:10 PM.

I just got my Spoolmate 100 inner barrel assembly back from Bob. He re-threaded it so it would accept the M-15 tips. I re-assembled the gun and set it up on my MM211. What a difference it made. I used .035 4043 wire on what appeared to be 1/8" thick aluminum. I was able to spot weld with it,...

I have a MM211 and really like it! Of course, I'm not a professional welder, so I don't have much experience with other machines.

That's a shame, I was hoping to get 1/4" or even 1/8" results with the MM211, and the Spoolgun. I had a Diversion 165, and sold it. It wasn't bad for an entry level machine. I just felt I could get more use out of the MM211. Perhaps I'll look for another TIG machine with better features....

Ed,
I've only seen mention of the parts in the manual, not a description of exactly how the Spring Wire Liner is removed from the Head Tube Assembly. Perhaps you could be so helpful to make specific reference to the exact location, by page, describing the removal process.

Wire Feed Spring Inside Head Tube Assembly
I was hoping someone could advise me how the Wire Feed Spring, of the Liner Kit (Part # 32) in the Head Tube Assembly (Part # 31) is removed. I didn't want to just pull it out without checking to see if it is attached somehow to the steel tube...

Yes, I think, in general, the 211 will give better results with the modified barrel.
I have been using Argon gas.
Thanks,
Steve...
