What kind of robots are you running ? Motoman ?

I would look at taking the defuser off and changing it out and checking for blockage in the robot neck and also track your ground wires from your supply to the base of the robot.

Your robots should be running coolers on them...

That would be a 5 hp compressor motor that draws 25-28 amp

A 7.5 hp compressor will draw around 31-34 amps.

My Ingersoll Rand 7.5 compressor running is 33 amps and start up amp draw is 76 amps. A 5 hp will draw about 60+ amps at start up....

Have you checked the ground wire and clamp and the mounting nut ?

We have this happen at work on our Deltawelders 451 / 452 and the first thing is always the ground ...........

I didnt reread the thread but also bad wound wire can cause burn back. I have had 2 bad rolls within months do this to me.

cruizer also has good input about the one knurled drive roll on your power drive wheel.

A weave is the small movement of the arc being side to side , zig-zag , circles ect ............

Whip welding is foward and then back again rewelding over filler metal to smooth it out and back foward again.

There are so many whip welders out there rewelding over there...

YES ! Loose the "tack weld" welding , that will get you into more issues then you know.

Are you welding as it sits or is the frame on a rotating turn table ?
