well we got a new shop teacher end of my senior yr and he helped a good bit. but now im outta school and am a full time laborer,iron worker,welder,drafter haha.

14 or 15 first learned arc 15 mig and thats all i know right now and now denny here is helping me with giving me tips and ideas even though he aint up here at my home

im new to this but how do u know what kind of metal is galvanized and what is mild steel

not near the blade no no no no no u hold it off the base off the saw this way if ur cutting round stock or tubing it doesnt spin. but then again the band saw at school is horrible so i trust a chopsaw better its wht my father has trained me on tht and a cutting wheel

u wont have blade wander unless u bog the blade down into the metal if u do it slow and steady then u will b fine and make sure ur metal is fastened down correctly.

chop saw i have better more true cuts with a chop saw then a band saw just remember to if u r using metal tht is longer then chop saw base to have ur hand on it

ive had expereience with burnt shirt it wasnt fun my dad tried putting it out and it was hanging over something and yea he patted i dpent a few minutes singing soprano so wear an apron when cutting or welding...

cut the metal at 45s then weld em together idk wht u plan on making though

ask around to any of your friends i dont know what you do for a living but if it is retail sometimes carts break and need welding done umm farmers fire departments almost newhere u go needs some kind of welding done.

hate to say it but i agree ont his to my schools shop programs suck yes we have metal wood electronics drafting ag classes and a graphics shop class they are 4 quarters in length but they dont teach any form of the lost art that each subject has noone forge welds or hammers out sheet metal in metal...

i agree they should get a program set up so us kids and the adults can become more educated on the subject of welding. Im the only guy in my high school that wants to become a welder im the only one out of the 5 or 6hundred in my school that is sad considering its supposed to...
