i got my first job interview in this trade on monday and i've heard they may want me to do some welding on the spot and i guess i'm kind of freaking out i need a job and i dont want to screw it up i've pass 4 cwb test but that doesn't really mean anything when it comes...

with mig how long of weld bead can the avgerage person run before having to stop readjust and start again just wondering because i've been stuck in a both for 7 months and would like an idea of what is expected of me at most right now maybe 12" is this good for my experience level or not very good...

i've been try to start at the edge of the crater and move back quickly but i'm ether to far and it humps up or the crater is exposed i'm guessing were i am so your saying ahead of the and come back i will try that and i will cut ball off the wireLast edited by clifford544; 04-02-2010, 07:41 PM.

wondering if anyone had any tips on restarting the weld after a stop and making it look good i have a cwb welding test on wednesday and i don't want to waste $100 only to fail on my restart i'm using miller 252 or 251 have both

or how would i know i'm cooking the metal (too hot) besides burn through how can i tell

with the settings being to hot for a certain thickness of metal would that cause more surface impurities on the weld little glass islands

the hole bead is shinny. to hot being shinny or dull maybe shinny isn't the word i'll use brighter more silver in colour if it matters i'm mig weldingLast edited by clifford544; 03-21-2010, 01:31 PM.
