I need some info on bead rollers
im helping a friend out with some tin work, he bought .040 black alu, and borrowed a bead roller from someone else (harbor freight model)
OK here's whats happening
when we make a run on a test piece the edges of the black in the alu show...

you have many probs that i can see just from that pic
also have him check out the inside of the house because 220 lines should be run with 3 wire not 2 wire

dont know for sure but you might be getting a vacuum effect in the torch and the shop air could be causing your prob...

When I first got my sycro 200 I had the same prob thought it was me but it turned out that it was the gas, all my probs went away after my tank was purged and refilled. then I bought a second tank and my supplyer didnt purge it right and had the same probs again. repurged and refilled no more probs....

the whole prob is with alu it dosent madder what type of wed im trying to do
if it isnt just running a bead then it just looks like krap. but with steel i got it right away.

Tungsten ?
ok all the normal bs been here for a while reading but just dont post I have a sycrowave 200 and just wondering what tungsten you would use on alu. been using 2% thoriated (red) for steel and it seems ok just need to to get my welds to look better,they look like one long weld unlike a stack of dimes...
