I know it’s an old thread- but has anyone figured out this problem? My Multimatic 200 also has this issue. 3 different guns and still arcs off between the feed wheel and the end of the liner. The machine lives in a tool box on a service truck. Thanks for any help!

I bought a brand new 302 for $3500.00 this summer. I'd offer 1500.00 maybe 2000.00 if its nice and has some leads with it. But thats not a bad price, especially if you have the 2500 but not the 3500!

The first time I worked a job where you had to get a certain amount of inches a day, the pipe had been hung and the root put in by the fitters. I was just barely making my inches and a older guy was killing everyone, seemed like every time I looked up he was screwing off. I was 19 at the time and had...

You can use a patina from sur-fin chemicals. Look on their website for colors and info. They have clear coats you can use. They are pretty much like gun blue, but you can get a lot of colors.

What about a bubble in a top? Ive straightened lots of beams and plate, but I have a bubble in one of my roll-around tables. The top is 3/8 and became warped after a small forge was used on top of it. Its sort of like a large example of how to shrink sheet metal. This is not a fab table but I still...

I have tried to get them to change, but until I give a price and they change it I have to be able to hold up my end. We do tons of stainless, tig,mig and stick- but I feel there is no way to keep something like this straight without a machining operation in the end. There is money in this job to do...

how to prevent thick stainless from warping?
I have to bid on some frames built from 8"X8"x3/4" 304 stainless angle. The problem is that no one makes it. I have talked to the customer, and the engineer will let us fab the angle from plate. My concern is major warping from full pen welds on s.s. this thick. Anyone have any ideas...

The "cargo" portion of the bed will have a heavy rubber mat. One of the reasons I went with paint is ease of touch up. I dont think a work truck has to be ugly. I cant stand that this one has been rusty for so long....

I am going with paint on this bed. We have a few shops that can powdercoat stuff this big, but I feel with paint I can touch-up or repair stuff better. I am using a local companys polyurethane. I went to the paint shop to pick up the cab and chassis today and had to leave it as there were some minor...

pics for Vin-man welding
Here is the job I wrote about in the other thread. Thought it was going to be some nice full pen gravy welds. Nope. The GC had to do a road cut and only had one day. The pipe was butted up and welded from the inside. No big deal, but it was already beveled for welding from the outside. Inspector said...Last edited by Eric Carroll; 05-24-2010, 09:31 PM.
