Another vote for the CK superflex torches. The CK230 will get you up to 300 amps and is 100% duty cycle on both AC and DC. I have this torch with the rigid head but I would buy the flex if I could do it over.

Controlling distortion is a function of the steps you take in welding, fitup and fixtures etc...not the machine itself. So find a suitable machine in your budget and go for it....

We don't know your location so my guess is if you haven't found a local supply then you are stuck with online shopping. I live in an area that has a metal supplier (Alro) that also runs a drop shop second to none.
You could try local fabrication shops and see if they could sell you what...
