no, it is an output issue insofar as dutycycle is concerned - you are dealing with two mechanical devices here. engine makes rotation and horsepower/torque.... alternator on genset connected to engine converts the rotation and power to electrical power. look up specs on engine power curve, look up specs...Last edited by ChiliDog; 11-02-2008, 03:02 PM.

We design and build larger generators. 20 - 150 kW models. The basic principles are the same though.

Thanks. I agree with you about the learning curve. Our guys are pretty resistant to new things. I know alot can be said about not changing things that work but there seem to be some alternatives and I want our outfit to look at them.
Our next project is to build a bunch of 15,000 gallon...

yeah, the 2 and 3 inch stuff we weld up on flanges attached to our fluid ends are much heavier than sched. 80. we have the fittings machined from forgings, etc.
they work well. also, I know guys using our equipment have been known to put a nickel in the rupture valve and GOD only knows...
