That's what I figured, so that eliminates option 2, but if 180 amp on a 7018 ac rod is more than enough power I will probably just do it at home with the Airco.

Will the older airco cable connectors, just a straight copper plug about 5/16" in diameter, work in the precision tig?

Welding 7/16 steel
We recently started using Mo-Clamp's Full Frame Anchoring System http://www.moclamp.com/4070hpage.html.
As seen in this photo the pinchweld clamp does not hold the thick mouunting flange well because they are designed to clamp steet metal not thick steel.

It was a pain. We ended up puting it on a lift. The clutch disk got ruined because the haynes manual was incorect-put in backwards-so we had to take it apart a second time and get the original clutch relined.

I probably wont take any pictures, sorry. How hard is it to remove the upper bolts that hold the transmission to the block? I am working with the car on jack stands.

I am a member of that forum. Alot of the thing I will be doing to this go kart will be rather unique and I doubt there is much help to be found, I will be making what I have work. An example of this is removing the initial gear reduction from the transaxel of the cub cadet 128.

The come out in front of the stock bumper and up the the level that you want the bumper with steel tube and weld a piece of tube across the two mount points...

Nice cart. That looks just like Miller's cart except for the wheel setup. I personally like the design of Miller's better because of the pnuematc tire and the fact that the welder is ballance on two big wheels and suported by two smaller ones.
