Steel tube in/on concrete for fabricated roof on block shed, corrosion?
I'm building a 12x24 concrete block shed. I would like to build my own 6:12 pitch trusses from 2x3x14ga steel. I know this sounds like a lot of work vs wood but I want something simple that will last forever with no maintenance, so that means no exposed wood eves, i can keep these trusses completely...

I picked up the 1/4" plate from the waterjet shop yesterday and took it by my buddys shop to put a 15* brake in each side of the spade for strength. I will just grind a little bit of an edge on it and see how it holds up. We have mostly sand here in FL.

Thin cutting edge for tractor tree spade?
I have a small tractor that I am making a tree spade for. It will attached to an existing 4ft bucket. It will be about 30" wide and stick out 26" from the cutting edge of the bucket, in a triangle shape. It will be made from 1/4" steel, with some breaks in it and steel strip welded...

A lot of 3ph motors love variable frequency drive type converters, i wonder how they would work on a charger.

I was thinking of going refrigerated, but you bring up a good point, for my low use, maybe dessicant type would be sufficient?

I have a 250, I can easily run at 220amps if I start welding fast on 1/8" alum.
The 250 is big though, something like the 200 or a dynoasty that is smaller would be nice sometimes.
If you run helium with the 200 it will help alot. I even use helium with my 250...

Compressed air dryer questions
I ran 350' of 1/2" pex throughout my new 40x60 shop. There are about 20 drops throughout. I have a closet where I am going to mount my compressor and such, with a switched 20a 120v line and a switched 220v 20a line, so I can turn the stuff off when I am not going to be in the shop for a few days....

I rarely run my sync 250 hard enough to make the fans come on. Short periods at 220amps AC does not require them.

Some good thoughts here. I did use double stud construction in part of the building (since its overall 40x60 but the sound proof room is only 40x20). I know roll up doors are only good for 10db reduction (I have about 100db total, and would like to get that down to 60-70db), but if I did add another...

Building a sound proof door
I am building a sound proof room to run a dynamometer. The room is inside a concrete block building with a 10' ceiling and wood trussed roof.
The big issue, there are two residential garage doors on either end of the 20' W x 40' L room. I need to insulate the doors and make them as...

The problem I've run into when using a hobby level machine to build a trailer was duty cycle. On its highest setting, I could only get a good strong weld for about 30 sec, then it would taper off for the next 60 seconds. Even when bouncing around the trailer to prevent warpage and only doing a few...
