Most times when you buy cheap that is exactly what you get. Not all times but most.

Albert, get more expierience. I bet your welds are pretty and very consistent but will they pass x-ray. I suggest getting a job in a shipyard and going through their training program, you will gain great expierience and all while getting paid. Learn to weld in very confined spaces and stay at the job...

Don't pay any attention to Dr. Pipe as he usually has nothing positive to say about anything. This guy is a jerk and I think he works in a shop and is probably just learning to weld and has a low self esteem that he tries to boost by trash talking. You have to feel sorry for people like him.

I mean no direspect but call a welder to come out and fix it before you damage it beyond repair.

I hope that your homeowners insurance is paid up because you are going to need it. I suggest that a good safety course should be in your future as it will give you something to do while they are re-building your house.

Dr. Pipe, I am in a wheelchair and in your small minded opinion a cripple. I have read your posts and I am certainly not impressed. I never run down another mans work ethics and now I think I will. It looks to me that you are an out of position weldor and I would bet money that I can still out weld...Last edited by Wheelchair; 08-17-2012, 02:14 PM.

How many weldors in the shop? 3 maybe. If you are such a good weldor, let others brag about you. A good pat on the back for a job well done goes a long way and will make others think more of you. If you constantly brag about yourself then my friend you are heading down a lonely road. You come on as...Last edited by Wheelchair; 07-19-2012, 03:38 PM.

When I say average weldor, I mean that he is like most of us, he gets the job done but with his apparent low self esteem he has to run others down in order to make himself feel good so that he may look in the mirror and tell himself that he is the best. A good weldor does not have to brag, he just does...

Cornerstone, I think Dr. (BSER) Pipe is probably no more than an average weldor that loves to brag because of his lack of self esteem.

I hope your deck has a roof because the chair will hold heat and believe me the sun is going to heat it up.

This is the right answer. You can throw out any certs that you have as you will be re-taught not only in welding but also in a score of rad-con procedures and everything you do will be monitered. There will be a record kept of all the welds you make and if you have to many rejects, you will move right...

I have welded more inconel in my career at a shipyard than I care to remember and never once preheated. Ambient temps is all that was required. Interpass temperature is the only thing to be maintained. You are absolutely correct.
