    I don't normally use 1/16" often, however with .045" I generally keep a verticle weave limmited to 3/4" for structural welds. If the joint design requires more weld across the face, I use overlapping weaves or just use stringers.

    i use the stuff for most of my weldig and dont go more than 3/8 on width of bead. i run it about 25 volts or higher, and pretty quick wire speed. most of my welding is on structural steel.

    I guess it depends on how "wide" your thumb is. It could be 5/8" wide, or 1/3/16". Your question stumbles me at the vert. flat part. Running vertical weave as opposed to vertical stringers has differnt parameters. For flat, the same thing, but not the same as vertical.

    just for the sake of arguement this was brought up today and i wanted to see what everyone else thought........here goes!!!

    if you had 1/16" flux core wire and was doing Vert. and Flat......how wide is max??? I say no wider than you thumb but others disagree.....what do you feel???
