    Portable or Standup?

I have a Milwaukee portable (standard throat) model that works good for me and I can take it with me on the trail. I even have the plans to chuck it up in a vise and put a small plate/table on it to use it as a free standing model.

If you want to check out the thread about chopsaw reviews, there is a fair amount of info on some bandsaws as well. SSS

Check out this link. Allot of good information and what others have tried.

I have a 7 x 12 inch bandsaw I got from Princess Auto which is the Canadian version of harbor freight. The link to the one I have at harbor freight is below. Great saw.

Harbor Freight buys their top quality tools from the same factories that supply our competitors. We cut out the middleman and pass the savings to you!

If you are just looking for a portable band saw those new Dewalt saws are great. The bearings look stronger and it even has a light to shine on your work so you can actually see the cut line in low light areas
