  • nice rack

Just built a rack to organize all my welding stuff. I've got the mig, tig, tig cooler and plasma cutter, plus oxy, acet, argon, and mix tanks on board with chain retainers. I built a box for 4 50a receptacles , 1-20a 220, and 2-120v for all the power, and a helmet box up top. Tired of having everything under foot. 4 big cable/hose hangars too. This has really helped clean up a tangled mess. Anybody build something similar?

only one question....do you have any problem with stability? I realize a lot of the weight is low, but it seems like it could still be a little top heavy with that much height, on a small footprint. Just curious. SSS

It is pretty stable... the real heavy weight is low. If I tried I could push it over, but no incline or bumps at all here, all smooth concrete and it doesn't get moved around so much.

I like the idea but would probably spread the frame out a little. Thanks for the pictures.

Very nice, I really like the way it looks. Id say if you had the top spart in the front and all the taks in the same spot it would be less likely to tip but other then that its very nice.
Thanks for reading I hope my post helped

Looks good....but id have to say the center of gravity is a little high and looks like it would be prone to tipping over..I think I would have made it half as tall. But if it works for you, then thats all that matters...

Lucky dog...our shop has two ramps, and it's own version of an obstacle course. BTW, N GA is a great place to live. I worked in Alpharetta/Roswell for five years, and still go back a couple times a year. Ever eat at the Smith house in Dahlonega? SSS

                      SkidSteerSteve..

When I was at the 3rd Ranger Battalion at Ft Benning Georgia, I had a friend that went through Ranger School with me that was an instructor at the Mountain Phase of Ranger School in Dahlonega Ga. I would go up there often to visit him and he took me to the Smith House and I have to say, it was OUTSTANDING!!! Loved that fried chicken...makes me wanna take a 11hr road trip back to Georgia to go visit...
