    i'm new to the welding world and this forum and was considering buying a maxstar 150sth and just wanted to have your opinion about this machine

    they are nice little tigs that are good for more of a hobby type welding. but new to the welding thing tig might be a bit hard to get a good handle on. my be check out local schools and see if there are any courses on tig that u could take
    they may be a big help. just a thought.

      thank you. I actualy just finished a 150 hour course at the local vocational school for smaw gtaw and gmaw and i'm taking my aws d1.1 test this week there aswell.

            I bought mine in 2004 been using it on and off doing stainless steel tig, I've burned a few rods with it too I'm a hobby guy and it has been great for me, Mine is the STL don't know if there is a difference. No problems with it after all it is a Miller, I bought the name and on a recomendation from a pro he said it was all I needed, he is still right. I had my reservations thinking I would grow out of it. But make a list of your needs and see if its what you want.

                Isn't that the one with pulsed TIG? **** yeah! Except you can't weld aluminum since it's DC only....What about an Econotig? Lincoln precision TIG 225 is a pretty nice value as well for the same price range. ALSO...check Ebay. I got free shipping and no sales tax on my Trailblazer! YESSSSS! (Indiana Oxygen Company)
