scissor hoist fab
I fabricated a scissor hoist by utilizing 4" channel for the top and bottom half of the scissor. The hinge points were fabricated with 1 3/8" OD high tensile bar and ID tubing. I ordered my 2500PSI 12VDC hydraulic power pack (Item#9-1479) and 3000PSI cylinder(Item#9-5077) from www.surpluscenter.com. The hydraulic cylinder pins are 1 3/8", hence the reason for the same hinge points. The scissor hoist is tricky, since you are limited to space between your body and frame. If the cylinder isnt positioned correctly, you wont get full extension, if you do, the body will not go all the way down. Sounds complicated, right? It took some time to get it positioned properly, not to mention the method of safely moving the body up and down! Be very careful! There are no room for errors here!
