New rig?

I got picked up by my father after school to go to the weldign shop and he told em my ungle might be seelign is 1/4 ton S10 he isnt 100% sure but he told him that he will buy it if he decides to sell me it. I was wondering if any of you guys have an S10 if so
1. Are they good on gas
2.Are parts (body kit,euro taillights and exhaust[catback]) expensive to buy?
3. also its stick shift 5spd if im not mistaken will that be easier on gas then auto I herd that they are easier then auto.

I might end up skipping the mods and jsut use it as a work truck would that be a good idea or is a 1/4 not really worth using as a work truck

I wouldn't use it as a work truck. They are normally good on gas, and a manuel can be even better if you know how to shift properly. I don't know about the accerary prices.

well if I go pick it up it will be my second time driving stick so we will see how it goes i didnt find it that bad I only stalled 4-5 times in 5 minutes jsut trying tog et out of first before I learned how to properly use the clutch:P and the trust I was using was real old and you needed to jam it down to the floor hopefully it wont be as bad

ive seen modded s-10's and they dont look very good. my dad drives an s-10 maintence pickup for the town and if you intend to pull a trailer with it either put on a stronger bumper or re-inforce the current one, on his the bumpers bent to all heck. we got a '76 c-10 1/2 ton and the only the original bumper lasted about 26 or 27 years until it got re-ended by an uninsured jack*** and knocked it off. got a new one on one year later when insurance got resolved. looks great on it, cept last summer some prick stole a hubcap off of it and I cant find one that matches mine... and no it didnt fly off because I woulda seeen and heard it the day it got jacked and I drive that pickup with the utmost respect
