  • Arm Rest for Steel Guitar

Late in life my friend John T. decided to learn how to play a 10-string steel guitar like the one shown below. His guitar doesn’t have a stand -- it just sits on a table. He wanted to add a frame around it with a arm rest in front. The first two pictures show a typical 10 string guitar like John’s except John’s guitar doesn’t have pedals.

John brought over the Aluminum frame all cut out and ready for welding. Below are three pictures of how I fixtured the frame to weld it up.

The technical description of John’s guitar is:

    Shot Jackson’s kids

    Model Maverick
    Single neck E-9
    10 String

I will post a picture of the guitar mounted on the frame after John finishes the wooden shelf and mounts it on the frame.
