I have a welding blog https://migtigstickweld.com/ and I would really love to publish real-life stories about welders, metal fabricators, pipefitters, boilermakers, sheet metal workers, ironworkers, machinists, industrial maintenance mechanics, automotive body repairers, aircraft mechanics, and marine welders/fabricators.
I’d like people to learn about your lives, training, challenges and successes.
I think all of you hard-working people deserve more credit than you are given and these stories would also serve as an inspiration to aspiring young welders or to people who are considering starting any of the careers I mentioned above.
I would like to credit the post with your name (unless you prefer to stay anonymous).
Stories will be published exactly as they are written with no editing. (No swear words, please
)
If you would like to take part in this project of mine, please write your story by answering the questions below:
1. Can you tell us about your background and how you got started in welding?
2. What kind of welding do you specialize in?
3. What kind of projects have you worked on in your career?
4. What are some of the most challenging aspects of welding and how do you overcome them?
5. How has welding technology changed over the years and how has that affected your work?
6. Can you describe your typical workday as a welder?
7. How do you ensure safety in your work as a welder?
8. What advice would you give to someone who is interested in pursuing a career in welding?
9. How has being a welder impacted your personal life?
10. What do you see as the future of welding and how do you see your role in it?
You can send your story to my email: [email protected]
It would be awesome if you included photos of your work, favorite welding gear, workplace moments that you like etc.
We recently started receiving and publishing welders' stories and here are the first two, if you're curious what they look like:

All the best and many thanks,
Jeff
