  • Miller 210 Purchase

I am trying to find a good deal on a Millermatic 210. From what I read on the forums, the 210 is a great machine. Please give me some advice on purchasing from ebay, online, or LWS. The best deal I have found on a 210 is on ebay and I can even get 6 month financing (to make it better on Santa you know). Thanks and Merry Christmas. I hope Santa brings perfect beads to everyone.

I would see if your local LWS will get you a deal, I would probably pay about $100 more to get it locally from someone I trust and am doing business with anyway. My local LWS will meet or beat the internet prices without even asking, the Dynasty 200DX I purchased a short while back was more than $200 less than the lowest internet price. The MM210 I bought from then was a bit more due to the tax's but was dropped off in my garage that evening. If you do buy over the internet you need to make sure you are the first retail purchaser as the warrenty states that it is in affect to the first retail purchaser, although Miller has been liberial in that policy in the past. Oh yeah, what you heard is correct about the MM210 it is a great machine, the new version (when it comes out) might be better but I have my doubts, I have a feeling it will only be different than the current one. If you want to save some money and don't need a spoolgun you might take a look at the Hobart Handler 187, it dosen't have quite the top end or duty cycle but the word is that it is very close in performance to the MM210.

I would try an LWS first. If not than look to an online vendor.

We ended up dealing with a company that sells on Ebay but is located in Maryland.

      B&R Welding

It was a 2 hour drives but a savings of over $300 made it worthwhile.

They sold me the MM210 and 3035 Spoolgun for $1850 cash pickup price.

The other Ebay vendors I have heard are OK to deal with but if you have a problem, they may not be there to help you out after the sale.

its hard for the e-bay guys to help with warentee because it has to go threw a authorized service center and they may not be, also shipping it back and forth would be nuts. any local service center will honer the warentee reguardless of where it was purchased. the local guy may well service his local customers befor an internet buyer if both are at the shop for repair at the same time, but he will still get you serviced. B&R is one of the top e-bay sellers as well as local for you, well 2Hr drive. i would drive 2 Hr's to pick it up rather than have it shipped thats for shore. warentee will most likely not be an isue on the MM210, with the exception of a few guys pulling out the gun liner from dragging it around by it i dont think i have herd of a problem on the MM210 at all. thats a good solid welder every one just loves. great choice, you will not regret it.

i would look at the e-bay financing a litter closer and see what you end up paying in the long run befor jumping on it the interest will kill you. it almost dubbles the $$.

        Sundown
If you do buy over the internet you need to make sure you are the first retail purchaser as the warrenty states that it is in affect to the first retail purchaser,
i think you are the first person i have ever herd mention that. true though about miller being pretty forgiveing on it though, heck they are even good about fixing even without a recept if the sereal #'s are within date. so although the policy states no transfer on warentee i dont think i would be that woried about getting a used MM210....... ... well if you could find one any way, i have not seen many out there but that could change with the new version comming out. some people just have to have the latest thing out even if the one they have is working fine. there loss, maybee my gain if they do flood the e-bay market when the new ones come out, heck i might even be able to get one.
        thanks for the help
        ......or..........
        hope i helped

          Buying on the web..

Do your homework, print out the best web offers you can find and go saddle up at the counter of the LWS. YOU tell him what you'll pay, not the other way around, as you already know what you'll pay for this machine if you buy from Central Welding or Indiana Oxygen Supply. I just bought one 4 days ago at my LWS, for $1315 and a free roll of .030 wire. Now, if I have a problem I have a place to go back too. also, if you buy off line, you can go back to the LWS and tell him "I tried to buy from you, but you're company wouldn't let you compete for my business." YOU are in charge...after all it's your money, right? :-)

i dont think i would go back to the LWS with an attitude if i wanted service, you could find your self waiting a lot longer with that attitude.
he got it from B&R who is also a internet seller with both a good reputation and a good $$
some local places just wont compeat with the internet guys. they just tell you they have overhead and there price is what it is and thats that. my LWS is one of the ones that dose not care what others offer them for he sells at his $ and thats it. needless to say my MIG, TIG, and plasma all came from IOC. all at a good $$ and with great service, even after the sale.
            thanks for the help

I did just this .... and the best my LWS said was $1950 PLUS TAX ( another $95 ) Well B&R quoted me over the phone $1850 for MM210 and 3035.

To me a savings of $100, so off to B&R I drove, when I got there they loaded up the MM210 for me and said " that'll be $1850 " - TOTAL ) So now the deal became $200 cheaper. I bought a Miller BWE from them at same time, $230 - ( LWS was $319 ) another $89 saved. OK I was hooked, we bought another helmet abd many other odds and ends when there.

My LWS? Oh when he found out I bought from B&R he said " I woulda done that deal, to get the deal ". My response " I was in here 3 times with CASE and all 3 times you said NO "

Yeah B&R is an " online " dealer, or NOT. In reality they are a " brick and mortar " LWS and who discovered the internet as a way to increase thier sales.

By the way the LWS here is ROBERTS OXYGEN - funny thing is this - they won't compete with B&R here where I live, but the Roberts store a few miles from B&R sure does. HAHAHA

Well Roberts has lost me as a customer, I even get a better deal on Gas from another smaller dealer nearby.

I bought mine from the LWS, they actually beat the best ebay price I bought them by a few dollars. So, my suggestion is to go to the LWS, show them your best ebay offer, and see if they can help. Any money is better than none, so I would think they would deal.

                      btw, the 210 is awesome.

                        Mm210 & 3035

                        Hi Gang,

I needed to purchase a new mig welder to replace my little Hobart handler 110volt unit.

I looked on eBay also and found it had the best pricing on the MM210 & 3035. So I contacted my local welding supplier (Toll Welding Supply Co.) and they beat the eBay prices. I thought this was absolutely great that my local supplier would do this to make the sell.

I absolutely love the welder. I have had it for about a month now and have already gone through a spool of .035" wire without any problems what soever.

I am really looking forward to an aluminium mig project with this setup and if it welds anything like it does on steel I will be jumping for joy.

I used to struggle with the little Hobart mig to do some of the simplest
things. I am truly glad those days are all gone.

210 - or any other purchase

There are advantages to having both a local supplier that knows you by recognition and purchases, and a Internet supplier that knows you by your purchases.

When I bought my MM135 - I had spent days on the internet researching whether to get a Miller, Lincoln, or a Hobart. I knew what I would pay for each - it only took 20 minutes with the salesman at the local welding supply store to convince me to get the MM135 - it cost me less then the Internet price. The same for the my 200DX, the advantage is that my LWS people know me - and I can go in and ask for advice or solutions to problems I can't figure out (I took a few of their welding courses to boot). They also give me breaks on consumables.

On the other side of the coin, I bought my Spectrum 375 Plasma Cutter and LMSW-52t spot welder from Cyberweld.

Nothing is etched in stone - work it to your advantage.

If you think that the MM210 welds good with .035 wire you should try some .030 Lincoln or Hobart wire.
