Several people liked my recent post on the Scrap metal art or projects thread that showed the various lights in my shop, so I decided to present a more comprehensive thread of my shop.

My garage was built in three phases. The original 2 car garage (Don’s garage) was built in the 40’s. In the 60’s a “L” shaped addition was added, which included an additional parking space (Anne’s garage) as well as additional space in the rear (Shop plus Mill room). In 2020 I completed an addition across the rear (addition). Below is a plan view of the garage layout.

Here is a view of the entire garage taken from the northwest. The addition is the part on the left side of the picture.

As a part of the addition project, I added a new 400-amp electrical service.

I also added a high efficiency furnace and air conditioner. Also notice my pitiful attempt at landscaping.

Here is a view from the SW, which shows the single and two car garages. The addition is the part that sticks out slightly on the upper left side of the picture.

When I retired in July of 2020, I bought this toolbox to hold all of the tools that I had a work. My thought was the additional tool set in the addition of the shop, would minimize the distance that I would have to walk for a tool. The top surface of the new tool box was a convenient place to mount the tube roller.

You could move that blue car out and get some more machines. You need an iron worker. And a plasma table.

Appreciate the time and effort you took to post these. Love seeing a well-equipped and paid out shop.

I had the same thoughts when I saw that blue car. It's just in the way.

You could move that blue car out and get some more machines. You need an iron worker. And a plasma table.

In addition to the iron worker and a plasma table, I would also like a bigger TIG or MIG welder. My wife has no problem giving up her garage, provide I give her mine.

Don, I think your shop could use some extra security. I have a cot and a sleeping bag and I promise, they won't take up much room and you'll hardly know I'm there, unless, of course you hear the machinery running when it shouldn't be.
