2 foot excavator bucket crack

Fixed this years ago. Broke again right next to old repair but operator didn't see it so much bigger this time. This machine leads a hard life picking and digging rocks. Lots of prying and lifting rocks with the thumb that are bigger than should be. Set it up on a rock to get it at comfortable working height, put down pressure to close up crack. Welded inside 3 passes with 7018 then air arced outside till I hit inside weld. Ground clean then multiple passes with Hobart 21b flux core grinding clean in between each pass.

In the middle of welding up the outside lit up my pants. Annoying when this happens but part of the job.

my uncle patched up the buckets of the mechanical shovels, as reinforcement he put the thick iron rods for the reinforced concrete or the leaf spring sheets of the truck suspensions. depends on the size of the bucket.
