    I think we need to share some success stories about our Miller welders and equipment. I have a Miller AEAD-200LE that was built in 1979. I purchased this welder new my freshman year of high school. Mounted it on a 1946 Chevy pickup that I had sitting behind the house to get me by until I could afford a new truck. Drove the '46 until Dec. 1985, when I purchased a brand new '86 Chevy Scottsdale 4x4 1-Ton with a 6.2 diesel and 4-speed. I used the welder to build a custom flatbed for the truck and then mounted the welder on the truck. I was living in Ryegate MT at the time, and traveled all over Mussellshell and Yellowstone counties doing odd welding jobs. Then moved to Kenosha WI (taking the Miller of course). Used the welder to put up my own 120x240 building. Then built several custom welding beds for people all over Wisconsin. Finally settled down in Shattuck OK with my two wonderful daughters and the girlfriend. The welder has countless hours on it and the truck just rolled over 346,000 miles today. The only work ever done to the welder was routine maintainance and I only had the truck in the shop to replace a clutch. Very impressed with both Miller and Chevrolet.

    OK jsut a recap for chev, Chev is the only way to go remember this


    I'm sure there are many many more but can't think of any. Your story can really inspire people that with a simple welder a truck and some talent can really do alot for someone. But a thing to remember success stories arnt that easy to come by, there are alot you may hear of out west or in your own town but you never hear about the failures I'd guess about 7 out of 10 people will fail I might be a little pessimistic but its close enough to the truth. If you want your own shop you have to be willing to take chances and go for what you may think is the unreachable.

          Ok, this isn't all that impressive in over all terms, but I've had most of my Miller stuff for about 6 years now, and literally haven't had so much as a hick-up on anything, just routine service. One of my red boxes had to have two or three warranty rounds in the first couple of years.

          Let's see, I've had two SB chevys that spun bearings and BB Chevy that had a piston come apart on the highway. A little depressing when you pull the oil dipstick and anti-freeze is all over it. My Ranger is just shy of 200K and doesn't use a drop of oil. Only put one clutch and a starter on it. Gets better mileage today than it did new. Put over 250K on a 99 Dodge 3500 and currently racking 'em up on an 03. Sorry guys...won't own another chevy for a long time....I need a turning radius shorter than a quarter mile SSS

          -the only question I do have about Ford is what is their love affair with bolts on water pumps? really, 11 just to hold on a pump.

            Although my story mentions how good the Chevy is and I had an 81 model that was just as good, I still prefer Dodge over Chevy in everything from looks to style to comfort. I will never own another Ford besides the 65 I have in my garage that was given to me by my grandfather

              Ya know it wouldn't surprise me if somewhere in the past FORD had a serious problem with water pumps coming lose and some genius engineer said ....

                Almost most all the Chevy's I've seen above 90' has some major problems. I'll take almost any before then tho. There crate moterd are also good. I just want see how long the new company truck last before there is a repair that is worth more than the truck.
