He threw up a red flag a few days ago as his link had nothing pertaining to this post. But I thought I would wait it out. He's gone...Bob

    This may help.
I cannot vouch for the validity of this information.
Best be would be to try a small test piece.

Good luck and please be safe.

Then I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed. I have built a few smokers and gas grills in my time. There are several sources on building BBQ grills on the interweb. I have also bought parts like the ones your're trying to build from these sources also. There is a difference between BBQ and grilling. BBQ is the art of taking an otherwise inferior piece of meat and slowly cooking it and making it taste great. Grilling is just that, grilling. I'm sure someone here will come up with an answer here.

Well you would think so but I'm not asking about how to BBQ. I only posted in this forum because some signatures I've seen mentioned that they were in the propane business for years and my question is more about how propane burners work.

I'm not the smartest tool in the shed here, but wouldn't it be smarter to consult a BBQ grill forum?

started a topic creating new burners for my grill

creating new burners for my grill

I'm creating new burners for my grill. I've read Correct hole sizes for BBQ burner NG and propane?

I'm wondering about the other holes on the burner.
    1. the ones going across the width, what are they for?
    2. how big should my venturi be? I thought the old one was 1/2" by 1" but i didn't write it down.

    Any other suggestions are welcome.
I'm Including pics of what I'm working with.
