  • Winch mount for my trailer

I have a really nice 6X12 Aluminum trailer that I wanted to mount a winch on, without drilling any holes, that might weaken the structure... here's what I came up with:

would love to hear comments both good and bad.

Hard to see pictures. I wasn't crazy about the idea of basically a slip in winch mount. I ended up using 12"x 2" 1/4 inch c channel. I welded to the bed and frame rail tongue. I have 2 points of contact in rear with 2 inch triangle 1/4 steel. Probably over kill and by the looks of your winch your not pulling a lot of weight. I saw a lot of trailer pics on the internet with set like yours. Quick tip i did it yanked a car on trailer while raining mouse slipped and the **** hook missed my head by inches and dented my trailer. Will always make time in the future securing load and stand to the side while winching.

I like it! Pic are tough to tell, can't get them to blow up past thumbnail size. Does the square tubing extend all the way down to the bottom of the mounting bracket?

If you Edit your post and then click on the pictures, a list will come up. For each picture you can select the size: Thumbnail, Small, etc. It is worth a try.

If that doesn't work, you can upload the pictures as Attachments, and then get the same size choices.

          Cheers
