Was cleaning shop out at the farm a couple days ago and found a bucket of horseshoes as well as the flexplate out of my 79 Chevy I had back in high school. So the wife and I built this flower yesterday. She's been wanting to learn how to weld so figured this was a good project for her to practice on. She welded all the horseshoes together around the plate and I built the stand and put it all together. Then today I built this cat for her as a late Valentine's Day gift.

I wish this site allowed larger pictures. Tough to see. Sounds like you had a fun day! Did you teach her to lay a bead? I learned to weld back in 2005 and haven't welded since. I am trying to find some local artists around in Cleveland on these sites to see if I can mess around with their equipment and see what I remember.
