  • Another bucket to fix

My customer recommended me to this guy. He brought his 30" bucket in for me to fix. There is not much left holding the edge on, only about a 3 or 4" section on the floor that isn't cracked through. I plan on cutting it the rest of the way off & then aligning it the best I can. He said he was prying on some rocks when it let go. I'll patch it up and send it out for more abuse. This bucket has been welded on many times & is in rough shape. Click image for larger version

I had one very similar.Cutting lip off is the way to go.I also made a space between floor and lip so you could move lip around

Looks like the operator wasn't the guy who owned the bucket.

All fixed. Cut the edge off, got rid of the old scab plates someone put on to "fix" it. Lined up the edge as best I could since it is bowed & twisted. Tacked it in, then cut a peice of plate to fill in the floor, welded it up. Ready to be broken again.

Finished product. Added some small pcs. to fill in from the shank to the side plate for a little extra strength.
