I was looking at the Hypertherm PowerMaster 45. In the future i might purchase a Torchmate or similiar cnc table. Cut small parts for my car and maybe try selling something to make some money with the machine. Thoughts?Better choices?

I have the PowerMax 45. Probably the best tool investment I ever made! Ive used it for angle, bar stock, sheet metal (next best thing to cutting on a shear), expanded metal. Speed and precision are just amazing. Does everything to perfection. Other than when away from home, I haven't cut anything with the torch since I bought it. Search here and on WeldingWeb for Jim Colt's posts. He works for Hypertherm but is a straight shooter and a very knowledgeable guy. He even angle-cuts square tubing with it using a simple jig.

Well fellow mine Hypertherm has been at this repair shop that Air Gas told me does there work in the City of Sulphur for a month now I had to call him he said the printed board is out, this would be the second one, the thickness thing I cut is some 14 gauge and a total of about 10 feet, it is kept in an AC shop, super clean did read and saw the video's and followed them to get the best use for my money, I am going to get it tomorrow and going to Air Gas and let's see what is going to happen, very disappointed in this product, if I would have abused it would have been something I could understand using it for what it was not designed to do and would expect the results but was not so, will post the results of the visit, the fellow wanted $700.00 the board plus labor, I will ask the question and wait for an answer.

Bought my PM45 a little over a year ago. Absolutely love it. Down the road looking at getting a CNC table, but for the time being it goes great. I have cut expanded metal, angle, larger sheets. Saves money, cheaper to buy a big sheet and cut down to the size you need then have the metal yard make all your cuts.-Jimmy
