  • 1969 miller big 40

I bought an older big 40 to restore and have been looking for wiring schematics. I looked on the miller website but I guess it's to old to look up. Im specifically trying to see how the bridge rectifiers are wired up. I have all four brushes connected but the other terminals is where I get lost. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have checked all components and am very confident this welder will work. When I got it somebody had started the teardown and I got a bunch of parts in a box. I sure thank you for any help

My guess i that the 1973 schematic is darned close if not identical to the 1969

        See page 15 Figure 11-1

if that does not work for you... give them a call and they may be able to email you the page or photocopy the manual for a fee

        1-800-4-A-MILLER (1-800-426-4553)
        .

I looked at the 1973 schematic and I saw that one only has 3 brushes on the rear of the rotor. Where as mine as two in the rear and two about midway. I've looked all over Internet and the only thing I can come up with is. Early 70's.

Yes sir. I'll post some more pics when I get it all painted. I painted engine when I got it back from machine shop and put it together. Well seems I'm not smart enough to post the pics I have.

They upgraded the system so some stuff is a bit odd... try this...

I guess this is the only one I can post for some reason. It says file size to big. Stands to reason I guess it is a Big 40. I'll take more of welder and try again

I'm not smart enough to post pictures either. It's cool you got an old wore machine and brought it back to life. That's my style brother.

Hey thanks man. Heck I had to get it welding so I can build a gas tank for it. My plastic can with a pipe nipple screwed in the bottom isn't really working out for a tank.
