I've used it, several years ago. It works almost as good as grinding, & nearly as fast. So now I just grind mine.
The chem-sharp is kinda fun though, just get the tungsten hot, (either by shorting it for a few seconds at full amperage, or by heating it with a torch) then dip it in the "magic powder" move it around a little bit, pull it out & you've got a point on your tungsten!
If you've never seen it work, spend 10 bucks or so & play with it some, but I'll bet you'll go back to grinding your tungsten.

Tig electrodes sharpening.
Read in a post that their is a chemical sharpening agent for electrodes. I have always ground my electrodes, but I would like to learn more about different ways in getting the point on TIG electrodes.Tags: None
