The burbling noise was normal on the 200DX. My 300DX does not make a sound when at idle though.

It sounds similar to a refrigerator running, or overhead power lines, or maybe a ballaster from a flourescent shop light. The machine works great but just want to be sure that it does make noise when on and not in use. -- Don't want to be stuck with a $3000 defect.

    Thanks
Mine does the same thing, it is normal and would be the Auto-Line at work. If you want, change the amperage and listen to the hum change pitch while you do it.

I don't own one but I've read LOTS of comments about the noises the Dynasty series makes.
Yours sounds normal (or maybe quieter than most!)
Some of the guys describe theirs as "R2D2" because of the hum, squeals, chirps, & other noises!
