please put your brain in gear / thanks pat from texas
thanks for all the ideas/ i like the caster size and the open end/ yes the docks are steep and kinda rough /i really don't want to dump that kind of money in the lake/ they don't pay that well/ maby i should make it water proof and put flotation on it/ belive it or not?i almost lost my 180 sync. last year/ the lake was really low and the ramp was steep and wet/ 250 lbs is hard to hold/lost a batch of skin but not the welder ( with less than 20 hrs)that is when i decided on the dyn./also i won't for get the fire bottle thanks again from pat in texas

Yeah James that is what I was trying to get across and the boat slips down here would not be easy to mobile w/out the larger tires due to the warping lumber that they use. The pic is of an offroad a fellow created that has the larger pneumatic caster I spoke of.
BTW James, I also added a pic of my tig/plaz stacked unit I built several yrs. ago, unfortunately long before I started to frequent these weld forums. I certainly could have use a better idea, but both of these units are so heavy this seems like a good idea at the time,
Good luck James and Patrick w/your projects

i still think converting a dolly is the simplest way to get you mobil with tank and dyn. you could even use one of the fold down versions for taking up less space.
        Leons2003
i like that 6 wheeler.throw a motor on that bad boy and you could ride it to the job.
here is my allterain version. i built it back when all i had was MIG and O/A but now with TIG, plasma MIG, and O/A its time to remake some carts. i realy want to seperate them all into indivigual carts of a smaller version so i can just pull in the one i need and park them all out of the way when not in use. also looking forward to making the TIG cart out of aluminum, just seems like a cool idea and good practice with the new TIG.

first pic is it without the TA on it, as you can guess from the extra wheels on the O/A rack its removable. just pull a few pins and she lifts right off and is ready to role.the handle for the cart dose the same thing, i got tired of tripping over it.
next pic is with the TA but no O/A (the TA is facing away)
last pic is the front of my TA-185

for now i have put the plasma on the shelf abouve the welding table, its got plenty of reach for most stuff but its not moble any more. put the TA-185 under the welding table as i also did with the MIG. so i have an empty cart, with any luck this will motivate me to get off my but and get started building carts.

thanks for all the welder smarts/ can't believe it took me so long to find this site ( yes i can it took me 6 months to log on/ and only with my WONDERFUL wife doing it)/i'm into welding not puting / but with the dyn i can see it on the wall/all the ideas are great/Leons is that a walking beam axle ?/fun4 now/ i am swaying to the fold up dolly/some of the moving guys had really neat alum. two wheelers/my whole rig weights less than 60 lbs. and if i lay the bottle sideways it will be 24" long x16 " hi. x16 " w./ should be able to build a .060 alum box to enclose the welder and bottle/then with some quick couplers for hoses and dzus fastners for doors i should be able to disasemble load and reasemble quickly/i got a plastic box for the ped & leads with the welder/probably build an alum box for them also ( you ever try to put something back in one of those boxes?)thanks to all of you pat from texas
p.s. fun4 now you know where i could get the the neat winter coats for the welders???? reeder @ aol.com --- to you and all melters

DYN200 is a nice welder i wish i could have gotten one but i'm ok with the TA i have for now.
if you lay down your argon bottle be shore to build a gage guard into the cart to keep it safe.

                      Agreed!

The first thing that crossed my mind was a 90mm main gun wouldn't look too far out of place. Maybe a flex mount .50 cal. for secondary armament?

                            In progress....

......her is my modified Hobart/Miller cart.....I added 12" to the front legs and 20 1/2" for the rear supports.....rear wheels are from TSC two for $9 and the front are Northern Tool specials........the material used to add to the cart came from Sam's club....well there dumpster anyway
                            Mike
                            UPDATE:
I tossed the modified into the scrap pile after a couple of issues and decided to go the way of Da Catt (BillDaCatt) I used his basic design and added a few touches to help make it my own......what do you guys think of the paint job (flat black and beige for the wheels).

I made this welding cart for the wire welder & oxy/acc. many years ago. It's actually a revamped stand for an old table saw that had seen it's better days. Since I got the TIG I never use the wire wilder (needs parts) but I still use the cart to move the Oxy./acc. around when needed.
