The shelves and rails are 16 ga CR steel. The verticals are 1 1/2" square thin wall tubing. The sheet metal was cut and bored on a plasma table and then bent on a press and a finger brake. The welder is a Hobart Handler 190. Blew through in a few spots. Also had to do some MIG "body work" to fill in holes and gaps. While I was careful to avoid warping, I was not careful enough and warped the tubing anyway, but I did manage to bull it into submission.
The purpose of this project was to organize the ganglia of wires to and from the receiver and to provide easy access to the backs of the components by putting each shelf on ball bearing glides. The shelves are all cantilevered, and the system is attached to the wall to avoid a forest of table legs.
