Went to my local gym today and one machine was down . The owner is a good friend , so she showed me the piece . I was surprised to see that the square tubing only had original two sides welded. I'm thinking I should add some gussets . I have a bunch of roll cage gussets , but I'm not sure of those or if I should use smaller square tubing on angles . The last picture is how it gets welded back together . Any advice would be great , thanks .

Start by throwing it in the garbage before it seriously hurts someone. The rest of the welds on that gym equipment is probably welded just as solidly (or un-solidly). So it doesn't make sense to use it, unless it's for a place of business that has a good insurance policy for it's membership holders.
