Spool gun for my Millermatic 130

Is there an Spool mate aluminum gun made that will fit my Millermatic 130 mig welder. I am a cabinet maker by trade, but I just bought a new shop and the old owner threw in a Mig and a Tig welder and I am trying to learn how to use both of them right now. I worked with my Tig on some aluminum for about 3 hrs. today and I am not making good progress. I also want to do some aluminum welding with my Mig and need to know if I can buy a spool gun that will fit it.....................Can anyone help. Thanks in advance.

you could connect a Spoolmate 3035 with a SGA-100 control, However your capacity will be extremely low I have used this setup with my MM135 and it really does not have enough amperage/voltage to be worth while (in my opinion)

Ditto. I haven't done it, but experience tells me that machine wouldn't be worth the expense of adapting a spoolgun to it for aluminum.

I third the thought that the MM130 isn't well suited to mounting a spoolgun for aluminum on. You did mention that you also got a Tig machine but are having problems with it, if you can give us more information on which tig machine you have and what sort of problems you have having (with pictures if possible) perhaps we can help in that area. I would be supprised if you could learn to tig aluminum in 3 hours having no prior knowledge and no one to assist you. Some basic information to include would be: which machine are you trying to use; type and size of tungsten being used; method of grinding and amount taper; what kind of gas and amount of flow; length of stickout and size of cup; thickness of aluminum being welded; pre-cleaning method of materials, work area, & tungsten; which type and size of filler; amperage selected; are you using a remote hand or foot device to control the amperage. There is more you need to know but these are enough to get started with. Best advice I can give would be to get the Miller educational package available for about $25, great information on both Mig and Tig and well worth the money IMO.

I will try to get as much info as I can for you and let you know how I am doing. Since it won't pay for me to put a spool gun on my mig I will look around for a mig that I can weld aluminum, because I have alot of applications that I could apply aluminum too. Just be patient with me.........I am the ultimate beginner.

If you want a reasonably priced mig for doing aluminum take a look at the Millermatic 210 with a 3035 spoolgun, it will cover 14ga thru 3/8". I will help all I can and there are lots of tig welders here with much more experience that I currently have, I am sure they will be most happy to help when they get more information.
