My Grandfather Bill Fulloon was a Wire Worker all his life. He used an oxy for forty five years heating and welding. He used those green oxy goggles and a pair of raw hide leather gloves for protection. He had both ears and his nose cut off due to a lack of protection. He died in 1979 at the age of 68.
Over his working life he fabricated timeless pieces that still look great today.
I finally tracked down one of his works today and was allowed by the current owner to photograph a pair of gates that he made back in 1939. These gates are attached to his then Sister-in-law's home.
He also knew RC Archbishop of Brisbane Duhig and did many pieces for the church.
Which I hope to track down in the future.
Some works will be lost as buildings have been demolished and burnt down.
Enjoy Metal Art of 1939.
