Is anyone familiar w/ the Miller 210 Mig Welder? This machine is 2-3 years old and I am wondering how it performs. Perhaps on 1/2"-3/4" steel plate.

the MM210 is an excellent welder.replaced by the MM212 but more or less the same welder. but i think the 3/4" might be more to the MM251/252 than the MM210/212 range. the spec.'s for them both can be found

    thanks for the help

If you have to weld that big of material very regularly then you really ought to save yer bucks for more machine or you will only wish you did

you will have to get feed rolls for the smaller wire but it should weld just fine on smaller stuff. the low end is the same on all the MM's. i have run the MM210 on 20 gage with no problem, the MM252 should be the same. the gun is large but you can get a smaller gun if you want or hook up the spool gun with .025 wire so its ready all the time.

The MM210 is an excellent all-round MIG welder. I've had mine going on 3 years now and have had no complaints whatsoever...works great! I've welded some 1/2" stuff with it (multi-pass) and it has done just fine. I've not had any 3/4" stuff in any my projects, but I suspect it would do fine in multi-pass on it, but probably pushin' its limit. If most of your work is going to be heavy stuff like that, then you might want to save up for a higher amperage machine, but for only occasional welding in the thicker stuff, you could get by. Only you can answer what you're gonna be welding on, but overall the MM210 is one of the best "bread & butter" machines out there. But then again, I'm darn pretty biased.

You building a bridge or a triple hull supertanker?-)
Love my MM210 but barely do even 1/2" as I have a small garage
Paid $1250 for mine used 6 months ago, with tank. (to put a price out there)
Have hardly left the garage since... Wife does not like the MM210
