This weekend I have been adding receiver hitch type mounts under my welding table. One on each corner for a total of four. I made a platform for the chop saw out of 2x2x1/4" tubing and 1/4" plate. It is recessed down 3 1/4" below the tabletop so the saw deck is level with the table. This way long material is supported by the table while cutting. The other is a chain type pipe vice that was in my shop building when I moved here in 1995. I have not used it till now, as I had no good place to mount it. When I get some more 2x2 tubing I will make mounts for the bench grinder and drill press. I also plan on getting a good bench vice, too.
I made the receivers from 2.5x2.5x1/4" angle iron welded together. This made the ID 2x2 1/4", but I can add a 1/4" shim if a tight fit is needed.
