  • Miller Renegade (New Machine)

Hey everyone! Been lurking awhile but just had to share this.

Came across a new machine that Miller doesn't even show on there site!

Neat Engine driven Wire Feed. I posted a picture and here is a link to the item itself......

I know I sure have had a use for something like this......The only thing it is missing is a combination stick welder.

    What do you all think?

cool, i wonder if it will take a 8" spool ??
seems like the blue Star ( i think it is) with MIG instead of stick. seems like plugging a MM180 into the blue star would get you the same thing with both MIG and stick ?? more to cary around though. add in a nice big role of flux core and its a fence fixers dream.
    thanks for the help
    ......or..........
    hope i helped

That is a nice machine, however, I too don't like the fact that it is wire feed only, an ability to run stick on it would be a nice addition. I don't know much about the little BlueStars, but do they put out enough power to run a MM180? Just curious.

"Fence Fixers Dream" hits the nail right on the head. If you notice my signature line. I have a Bluestar and a MM135. The only reason I bought the MM135 is for some Wrought Iron Fence work that I do every once in a while. I don't really care for it, but it does pay well.....

My BlueStar 145DX will run my MM135 No Problem, and will run my MM210, but I bet it won't run it cranked up

The thing no one mentioned was it has DUAL POWER. It runs off of shop electric or gasoline. Pretty sweet actually. It would be able to power a small inverter Tig/stick welder instead of dragging along your mig like usual
The real question is it spool gun ready or not?
I would like to see more machines built along these lines (dual power)...I believe Miller makes a bigger one of these puppies

                Ground Clamp

                Hey Guys,
Now don't take this in the wrong way...I love my Miller welders. If you look carefully at the picture that welder comes with a "cheap" ground clamp. Such a nice welder deserves a much better clamp. That's just my opinion.
                Thanks,
                Nick

standard MM135/140 ground, may be the same for the MM175/180, and i think the passport too. works fine for my MM135, but i would think a lil nicer might be in order for the larger welders. i suspect its rated for the amps used, but if ya want for about $10 you can get a nice 250amp clamp from TSC.
                  thanks for the help

it is set up for a spool gun as well a optional rack to set a bottle on. You would have to drag a mig along....this machine has one built in.
