In several places, the original blue is showing through the scratches. You wouldn't believe the paint job deal I made. I won't give it away until I have pics to post, but this scheme is gonna go.
Thanks mucho, CUL8R.

I can make you a better paint deal, drop it off at my place, I'll strip the old paint, buy the new paint and repaint it FREE and have it back to you in ohhhhh about a year, maybe two

My esteemed employer paints all of our machines a really ugly purple color to discourage those who would steal. I'll have to get a pic of one for y'all. Every machine the company owns (just about) is at a major job we have going building a new major sports venue for one of our local pro teams.

i once worked with a woman electrician and she told me how she had
the same problem with her tools. eventually she started painting them
pink to discourage theft. worked great. until she moved to san
francisco.
when i was ruining a framing comp. in AZ i painted all my stuff neon pink. not only was it les likely to get stolen but it was easy to see if some one was walking off with it or failed to get it painted before returning to a job site. needless to say all the other comp's in the area knew if a new guy showed up with a neon pink tool things were not on the up and up.got a few tools back that way, and kept a few less than reliable fellas off the job site.i also had a much lower loss of tools then most crews, that made it all worth it.
thanks for the help

never had that problem. I'm waaaayyy too protective of my tools
doing inventory twice every day and being a real d**k head
easy enough if its just you , but with several crews out there in the field with equipment thats yours not theres it gets a bit more problematic. with tool $ the way it is for good ones, ya gotta do what ya can to keep what ya have. a little pink paint doesn't hurt the tool, just the ego of the thieves. and thats ok with me.

boss furnished the tools ,
i have found out the hard way that all too often people tend to take that as an excuse to not take care of them. when you are the boss supplying them, neon pink is fine.

how true .
i was the one running the crew ,and the boss still chewed me out over that,no matter how hard i tried to get the rest of them to do that
which is VERY understandable when your tools are your livelihood
(thats why i am so **** retentive about my tools) and ya cant put food on the table with out them
.there was only one other guy who gave a crap
