Couple of pics of a mini excavator dozer edge i did last week for a customer. The edge is 5/8"thk x6"wide 60"long.Mig welded it with .035 70s6 .Preheated a little to slow the cooling.

No the thick edge down on this.If i was welding it into a bobcat bucket the the thin edge would be forward. This is weldable bucket lip i use for doing this.Last edited by admweld; 01-09-2012, 09:37 AM.BB402D

The beveled part is about 1-1/4" so when it wears, which would be quick with the thin part you are now into the the thicker section anyhow. The blade is 3-1/2"below the push board.Do it anyway you like, this is how i,ve done them for 10+ yrs have not had a complaint about it yet.BB402D

blunt end
One nice thing with the blade like that, back dragging would be very nice. Never seen a blade like that on the mini's, most seem to round out on the bottom and is left that way. One thing I am wondering, how big of a gap is that between the end of the blade that you installed, and the edge of the mini's blade?
