  • Help ! ! ! !

Hey guy's. I have a problem. I hooked my power up to my welder yesterday (MM252) And fed the wire into the gun like they sed. After a minute I looked and the welder was off and had no power. So I went down in the basement and one of the breakers were tripped. So I reset it, and came up and powered it back up, and nothing. No read-out no nothing. What do I do?
What do you think could be wrong? Please help guy's

Is this your first try with this machine, or has it worked fine for years? If the machine is new to you and never run at this location before I would start by looking to see if you have a multi tap machine(miller makes 2 types of mig welders 1/208v-230v 2/230v-460v-575v), under the cover behind the spool of wire. make sure the taps are set up correctly for the input power and try that, if that doesn't work you know the machine is wired correctly and power is there, check your connections see if anything is loose or making bad connection. if that still don't work contact your LWS , hope it helps

When some breakers trip they are kind of in a mid way position. To reset them you need to flip the breaker to the extreme off position and sharply push to the on position. Is your breaker a dual lever or two individual breakers
used to get the 230 volt you need? If you have reset them the way you think is correct, maybe one side of the breaker is bad. Test both sides of your outlet for power if you have a volt meter and if you don't, use a lamp and test each side to ground but not across both sides or you'll blow the bulb.

I was using a 2 different breaker set-up, but I am going to try a double breaker set-up. I have power going into the power switch and coming out, then it runs to the tap, and after that I don't know whats up.
Thanks guy's for the help. This is really a bummer. I just got it on last friday, and just hooked it up. Can you believe it a brand new welder not working.....

It happens, but its kind of rare.
They check 'em out pretty well before it goes in a box and out the door of the factory.

I'd keep chasing the problem of set up, and enough power getting to it.

YESSSSS ! ! ! I got it. I had a loose connection at the breaker. So it was showing the right volts, but when there was a draw on it, it wouldn't work right.
Thanks again guy's for all the help
