  • Welding Table

I need help designing a flat welding table. I am a fence contractor who is tired of welding on the floor. I need to be able to handle all sizes of chain link and ornamental gates and panels. It must be easy to square up corners too. Any suggestions??
    Thank you

I would buy a sheet of 4x8' 1/4" steel and put 4 legs under it with cross bracing then just weld a couple of jigs on the top for your corners.

That is what I did. I plan on building another when I finish my shop for the larger stuff. Make them the same and they can be put together for one big honkin' table.

        Welding Table

I weld large gates. 12' High X 20' or more. This is my problem. I also have to be able to reach the reinforcements in the middle of the gates.

Two tables with jack stands in the middle? When I had some stuff to do out of reach, I just hopped up on the table and took care of it. That would get old if I had to do a lot of it, though.

All my tables are the same height so i can move them around to do big stuff and still have the center open...Bob

I think this is the best idea yet.

why not make several tables that can be configured to fit a project along with a small rolling stair to get to the middle of a really big job?
