Do you know the part# of that kit? I checked the accessories section on both the CST 280 and your 350 CC/CV and couldn't find the gas valve kit. I might be blind though, wouldn't be the first time!
I'd like to find out more about the gas valve kit, if I get time later this week I'll try and talk to my LWS to see if they can help me.
I installed a gas solenoid kit on my Miller XMT 350 CC/CV. The kit cost me less than $90 and the instructions included made the installation pretty simple. I would say that if a solenoid can be installed on your welder, Miller would list the kit as an option under the listing for your welder on their website.
So did either of you guys get this figured out yet? Anybody else? I just purchased a used CST 280 and love it so far!!! I haven't set my tig torch up with it yet but will be soon, I'd sure like a gas valve!
The solenoid controls would need to be wired between the foot/finger control and your CST280. I have a CST250 and have been thinking of installing a solenoid for the gas. Since I started using my Maxstar150 I have become a big fan of solenoid control. If you run across anything available on the market, let me know. I was planning on a crude copy of the circuitry in Miller's HF251 for solenoid control of coolant and shield gas.
Ive got a cst 280 with a wp26v torch setup and foot 14pin foot control. It works great for tig, but I see that there is a plug in the front of the welder that looks as though I could install the fitting and possilbly the solenoid for gas control. Anyone have any information on this, or now where to find it. I looked on the site and dont see any info or prices for the solenoid and what not. I would like the gas to work in conjuction with the foot control to save gas. any input would be very helpful. thanks
