    Dialarc HF-p

Hey guys ive not long purchased a dialarc HF-p just wondering what this machine is like for welding aluminium. I've had big of a play around with it seems to weld quite nice but how would it compare to a later dynisty machine?
I've noticed the only thing you can really adjust on this machine is the amps more or less.
Can someone just shed some light on these machines maybe give me a few more hints on hot to operate it properly

    thanks

Since we're on the topic of the dial arc, i have the same machine at home and i've been wondering how well these machines do with a scratch start tig setup, nothing fancy just a simple tourch and 100% Ar gas and basic regulator, i ask because i have a roll cage and sheet metal work on my race truck i will be doing and would rather do tig over stick, and my dads little 135 hobart handler has crap all for a duty cycle?

I traded 100 hours of comp time for mine @ $17/hr. Got the Coolmate 4 for free later. It'll weld Al, but a Synchrowave is sweeter. I do love it, though.

Although I am a small after hours fab and repair hobby type of place I am planning to run the wheels off this thing. What is a saturable reactor? Any quirks to watch out for?

    good deal?

Starting price for a dial arc today is $1825.00 then you need to buy all of the other stuff that came as a package. So price wise you did fine. Now if you never use it you made a bad deal.

Do you mean Dial-arc HF? Great machine, wish I still had mine. Saturable reactor, bullet proof but heavy.

    DialARC HP comments please!

Have just traded work for a DialArc HP. Seems to be in good shape, seems to have all accessories. Good quantity of rod, plenty cable, with cooler. Traded work worth about 1 Grand for it. How did I do? Anything to watch out for? Gotta learn to use it now, been a long time.
Working...
