TacMig, Im trying really hard to figure out what you wrote en Espanol...

It was/is kind of a PM, but I just wanted to convey to our friend that no harm done and I understand the issue. To all, I live in SO. Cal and our Mexican population is huge and in fact in many cities Mexicans are the majority. As a result I have learned Spanish as a way of survival! This whole immigration debate is a much more complex issue than I wish to take on. As far as you made out, I do have a house in Monterey Mexico. The people are great and regardless of what you may have heard it's a beautiful Country. Some friends and I (before I bought my house there) took our Harley's for a 2 1/2 week excursion all through Mexico. I recommend this for all my welding brothers here as a great way to see how our neighbors to the South live and get rid of some welding stress!

To allow as soon as to know to him, I can read and be able to write Spanish and speech with my daily workers. I have 7 Mexican that work for me and for I do not have a racist bone in my body. In fact I still have a house in the Monterrey! I hope that you read this and understands 2 things. 1, many Americans are very sensible to this subject and perhaps better a solitaire must be left. 2. I do not mean to lower in you, but I am an American of abidding of law like I am sure that you are. My family has been devistated by Mexican not-legal and by one of my members of the family almost she was killed his! I do not have resentment and understand the nature of the life and of that in most or enough for the greatest part, Mexicanon and Mexican they are all good people watching as soon as to do something of its life.
Ok, tacmig if it came out like criticisim it sure was not, TRUE mi response was harsh and will choose my words carfully next time.
This thing about generalizing it something I have a hard time dealing with. Also true many mexican citizens are ilegally in the US, breaking the law in many ways. I do not justify ilegal immigration for no reason at all, I am all about following rules.
I do apologize to everyone for this uncofortable moment.
Just as a side note, speaking from a guy who used to make runs up to Canada with frieght.... do everything you can to make sure it's right before it leaves the shop. I was stuck in a custom's holding cell (ok, waiting area, but it felt like a cell) for an entire weekend because something wasn't right with the paperwork. Couldn't go back to the states, couldn't proceed on. To this day I don't know what it was, I was the lucky one that had to wait in limbo for the shipper/consignee/brokers to work everything out.

This looks like a cross-translation. In other words, the words (alone) have been translated, but you did not translate the phrases! The major difference in our two languages is that (other than you must produce the subject last) in a complete sentence most words are dropped/replaced and must end with a subject or question. ie (English) What time is it. What= que Time=Tempo and "is it" is one word= Es. But in Spanish you would ask: "qué hora es" Time has been dropped and has been replaced with "hora" which as a word itself is: hour. So if you cross-translate it, it would come out as: What hour is. Get my drift?

Thanks to all, especially gman, skidsteersteve and whoever else answered my question.
I am shipping the finished product to the Michigan plant (their suggestion) they will ship from there to the Mexico plant. This shows me how much they like my work. I will make sure the work is darn good. I have got to make sure everyone is happy beyond belief. And I will, this is showing me that my belief in good quality work for a reasonale price is a true bussiness plan.
On a side note I did not mean to start a "war" over illegals. I work with hespanics, I used to think where is Hispania anyway. These people are for the most part honest and hard working. If Americans would work instead of being "too good" for the only jobs they are qualified for then the bussinesses would need to hire the Illegals.
I in no way condone now or ever anyone that comes to this the GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD illegal.
Come to this county the legitiamte way, if it is too much of a hassle then you are not of good enough character to be a citizen here.
These are only my personal beliefs and will probably make someone mad, if so then I am sorry.
I didn't translate it at all.
That was a cut&paste from the post directly to Babelfish.
I think it came out fairly close.
Oh good, I thought you did it yourself (with a pocket translator). I have yet to see (a-long with instructors) an accurate translation program at least online. I'm going there to check it out and see if it is accurate.....

This is the worst one yet (Babelfish)! Try this, type in something in English ( a whole sentencehrase), translate it, copy and paste the translation back to English, you'll get my drift!

If I have to explain, you wouldn't understand.
Si tengo que explicar, usted no entendería.
If I must explain, you would not understand.
That was pretty good.
If I have to explain, you wouldn't understand.
English to German;
Wenn ich erklären muß, würden Sie nicht verstehen.
German to French;
Si je dois déclarer, vous ne comprendriez pas.
French to Spanish;
Si debo declarar, no comprenderían.
Spanish to English;
If I must declare, they would not include/understand.
Not too much lost in the translation around the world,, but this was a pretty easy trial.
Interesting!

I'm not sure if you are understanding just what I'm try to tell you here? "Lost in translation" is not just a metaphor! Count your words, then count the translated words. It came out correct because the phrase is correct. However, try "If I knew what time the movie was out I would wait or just go home". Proper or improper? Check it out..
