  • Weld splatter

I weld for extra money. I have a Miller 210 MIG machine. I have trouble with weld splatter. Am I running to hot. Is my wire speed to fast or something else.

to hot or to cold for the perticular size wire will cause spatter

you just need to find the 'sweet spot' for that wire

what size wire are you running ?

.030 wire 30 to 40 on the speed, and 3 or 4 on the heat setting. not sure if these number mean anything to you?

With an .030 wire (assuming ER70S-6 and C-25), Your wire speed range is to low for the voltage taps you mentioned using.

I run my MM210 on 4/40 a lot. I've found that clean metal makes a lot of difference. It doesn't take much (paint, rust, oil) to make a big difference in how the wire runs.
