This is the router I built this summer for doing woodworking and mild aluminum. It was a fun project but built it with my MIG now looking for new projects with the new Diversion I got last week..

Here is the first sign I made for a practice run, and the clear was still wet so it was cloudy but cleared up good after a day..I alway forget to take picture of projects that I have done for other boats , I usually do custom instrument panels and tackle box cabinets for yachts..

If that's the machine that guy wants to trade you a used Dynasty for, plus cash forget it. You can pick them up used for under $2000 once in awhile. Looks like you got some work in that CNC unit.
If you are set on buying one in the future, look into demo machines or factory refurbs. Larry Burross (weldersales) will treat you right. He's the king of demo/new old stock machines.

the router cnc I am keeping , I have a shoptask cnc that I used to make a lot of the parts for . And the Dynasty is the full unit ,with cooler and all but I have never been able to find them very cheap if at all.I will check out the links you gave me as well thanks.
Here are more pictures of the router that show it better ,It has a cutting area of 48" x 24", and so far has done a good job for me..
The control is made from 320 gecko servo drives, smooth stepper control card , 72 volt transformer power supply , and I use Mach 3 control software with Bob Cad V23 software..

Thanks for the clarification.
What do you have in the CNC? The Dynasty for the base model is going around around $1800-2500 used in VG condition on a very rough average. Remember, the base machine sells new for just a little more ($2800-3300 depending on where you get it) The list price is 30% above what the distributor pays for it generally speaking. When it comes to a machine like that, I would buy it new, or at the very least, from someone who will offer a guarantee of some kind with it.
Repairs on them can get pricey in a hurry.
You can get a good used cooler for under $300 on the net all day long. You have the skills, I'm sure to fabricate a cart for it.
Just something to think about. I want one myself, but it ain't happening right now.

Thats been one of my problems , I want to get something with a warranty to cover electronics on an inverter machine just in case of problems in the future.I am not going to do the deal with the guy if there is no warranty left on the welder.
I dont have that much in the shoptask maybe 2500 over the year but have made a few parts that have helped pay for the machine and not it seems like if I get rid of it I will just get a smaller mill not the lathe mill combo machine, the only time I use the lathe seems to be polishing so I can make a spindle with a chuck to polish instead of taking up so much room in my garage.
I would like to have a welder with a little more punch to it as well for when I do .250 work so I get better penetration and not have to bevel and do multi pass to get the job done..

Nice looking CNC. Good job. Do you have any issues with dust getting on the worm drive & causing stalls? I had that problem with a Multi-cam CNC I used have.(it's been retired to the corner of the shop as a brake table). I made a little brush to run on the shaft to keep the dust from getting in the gears & it helped a lot. Maybe mine was just touchy.Comment

With the vacume I made for it it seems to keep 85% of the dust down so i have not had problems with it stalling, I thought about using the same type of brush that I bought for the dust collector and put that on the ballscrews if I have problems but so far doing OK with it..Originally posted by pro70z28 View Post
I got a $99.00 dust collector from harbor freight and it really has a lot of volume on the collector I was surprised how much it kept the dust down.The first cuts I made literally clouded the shop with dust until I added it.

Yeah, you're certainly on the right track. I wouldn't want one unless I got some kind of warranty with it as well. Larry may have something if this doesn't work out & you're still looking.
