My friend collects scrap metal. One day I saw a water tank on the back of his truck and of course my eyes lit up. It is about the size of a 30lb propane tank and in perfect condition. I could not let it go to scrap, it is begging to be recycled into something useful. At first I thought a smoker for jerky, then I thought how often I would use it and I wouldn't use it enough.

Im open for ideas because my mind is a blank right now. If you need a picture, I can post one tomorrow.

I made a 50 gal hot water tank into a gun safe 25 years ago and i still use it. The only drawback is the galv steel construction was kinda pain in the butt...Bob

I"m picturing a few different things that can be done with it. The first and most obvious would of course be some kind of cooker or bbq, then my thoughts go to parts washer, beer cooler tub, soak tub for checking tire leaks, scrap bin for small pieces, hopper for sand blaster, some place to keep oildry (speedy dry).
Man, I could probably keep going but this should be good for a start. Dave

i came across one not too long ago, and turned it into a smoker/ grill. but that idea has been done several times over. a rod oven comes to mind for me, or weld it in-line with the wood stove in the shop to make a forge...a pic or two of the smoker

Metal, if it was brass, he would have shot me for taking it
