  • Pipe or rod holder

Somewhere recently I read a post where someone wanted to know how to hold pipe or rod in alignment for welding.

I do quite a bit of handle lengthening and some pipe welding so here is what I came up with to help.

Sorry, got interrupted and didn't get to explain the holder.

It is made from scrap I had - 1" X 0.125 angle, 2 1/2" X 0.250 C channel, and a couple of edge clamps. The clamps came from HF and were about $1.49 ea on sale.

The clamps can be moved back and forth along the length of the angle depending on where pressure is needed. The bottom of the C channel is cleaned to insure a good ground.

Works great and was cheap and simple.
